                        Shree Jagannath Temple, Odisha


         The Shree Jagannath Temple of Odisha is situated at Puri district of Odisha. It is important hindu temple of Hindu dedicated to Lord Jagannath. Shree Jagannath is a form of Lord Vishnu.

The temple is made by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Dev. This temple is famous for its annual Ratha Yatra(Car Festival). In which the three principle deities are pulled on huge and elaborately decorated. 



Deities

          The lord Jagannath is known as MAHA PRABHU,BADA THAKURA, KALA THAKURA, and Devi Subhadra is Sister of Of Lord Jagannath & Balabhadra is brother of Shri jagannath.


      In the top of the temple Sudarsha Chakra is Present. The Sudarshan Chakra is a Spinning disk like wepon. having 108 serrated edges used by the Hindu God Vishnu.


Three Gates of Shree Jagannth Temple

        The outer wall of lord Jagannath temple has gates opening for devotees in the four direction.These four gates are represented by the four animals. In the east there is lion and hence called lion’s gate or sinhadwar. In the west there is tiger hence tiger’s gate or Vyaghradwar. In the north, there is elephant and hence called as elephant’s gate or Hastidwar. In the south, there is horse and hence horse’s gate or ashvadwar.
