        Goa has everything you would hope for in terms of adventure. Baga Beach
Baga Beach



      Baga beach in Goa. This is a beautiful destination that also offers various water sports activities. Relishing Goan delicacies, partying post-sunset, and shopping around are the other activities that you can indulge in while exploring Baga Beach.
       


Location: North Goa




Known for: Scuba diving, motor boat ride, jet skiing, banana boat ride, river cruise, dolphin rides as well as Ayurvedic Spa


How to reach: By flight, the nearest airport is Dabolim which is 50 km away from Baga beach. By rail, Karmali and Panaji are the nearest railway station situated 17 and 15 km respectively away from Baga beach. By roadways, the beach is 30 minutes away from Panaji and 15 minutes from Mapusa convenient for traveling by car or bus. GOA can be reached conveniently from any part of the country and is well connected by air, rail, and road network.


Calangute Beach





The calangute beach of Goa is also known as the 'Queen of the Beaches'. It stretches to the northeastern part of Panaji. This is the largest beach in Goa. This place is a party hub for tourists. Tourists are seen partying all night long at Calangute. It also offers various water sporting activities for the guests to indulge in. One will also locate people leisurely sunbathing on the beach.


Location: North Goa, located around 15 km away from Panaji


Known for: Water skiing, parasailing and surfing.


How to reach: By flight, the nearest airport is Dabolim which is 38 km and Sambre airport (IXG) Belgaum, Karnataka which is 88 km away from Calangute beach. By rail, Thivim and Vasco Da Gama are the nearest railway station situated 38 km away from Calangute beach. By roadways, the beach is 38 kms away from Margoa, Goa and 39 kms away from Sawantwadi, Maharashtra convenient for traveling by car or bus.



Dudhsagar Waterfalls

    Between Goa and Karnataka border is the majestic Dudhsagar Waterfalls, which when literally translated means ‘sea of milk’ in Konkan. Located in Sanguem Taluka, near Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary, Mollem, the waterfall originates from Karnataka flowing from the Deccan Plateau into the river Mandovi towards the imposing Sahyadri Western Ghats cascading from a height of 300 meters and splitting into three streams, forming a deep green pool with clouds of milky foam rising up at the base before continuing its journey to join the Arabian Sea in the west.
   To reach the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one has to hire a jeep that carries 6 passengers only from tour operators run by the government of Goa’s forest department that will include a driver cum guide tour from Mollem to the base of the Dushsagar Waterfalls. The bumpy rocky ride will take you through the hilly topography of the scenic dense riveting tropical forest where you can also spot monkeys in abundance and small creeks to the parking base from where it’s a 10km trek a stream of water to the captivating sights of the charming waterfall where you can swim along with the fishes or dip your feet in the pool and relax. Every visitor is provided a lifejacket which is mandatory to wear when visiting the Dudhsagar waterfalls.
    The best time to visit is during October to May as the jeep safari stops operating during the monsoon season. During monsoons the waterfall swells up due to the heavy rainfall and the pool deepens making it unsafe to swim in. Goa can be reached conveniently from any part of the country and is well connected by air, rail and road network.

How to get to Dudhsagar waterfalls

Air: The nearest airport is Dabolim Airport, Goa. From there you can hire a cab to Dudhsagar Waterfalls

Train: The nearest station at a distance of 6km is Collem station. From there, you can either hire a taxi or take a bus.

Road: With well-connected roads, private and state buses run daily to Dudhsagar Waterfalls.

Interesting Facts About Dudhsagar waterfallsDudhsagar waterfalls is among the top five highest waterfalls in India and the top 100 waterfalls in the world.
The waterfall has a height of 300 meters and a width of 30 meters.
A scene from the blockbuster movie ‘Chennai Express’ was shot here since then raising the popularity of the falls as a major tourist attraction 



Candolim Beach




This is a peaceful beach of Goa that is housed within 15 km radius of Panjim City. The back of the beach boasts dunes that are covered with vast scrub stretches is one of the major attractions of this beach. It houses a peaceful and calm ambiance.


Location: North Goa


Known for: water skiing, windsurfing, parasailing, angling, yoga, meditation, boat excursions


How to reach: At a distance of 45 km, Dabolimis the nearest airport from where you can take a taxi to reach here. If arriving by train, you can again hire a taxi from the railway station (Thivim, 21 km away). Buses also run from Panaji (12 km) to Candolim beach in Goa.

Chapora Fort



This beautiful fort is constructed of red laterite. A remarkable feature of this fort is the amazing underground tunnels that were anciently used. Although the fort stays in a dilapidated state today, still it attracts a major number of tourists each year. One can also enjoy the picturesque views of the Vagator Beach from the fort.


Location: Vagator Beach, Goa


Known for: Nature lovers, adventure seekers


How to reach: By roadways, you can take bus or drive from Mapusa and Panaji to Chapora which is only 18 kms. You can also rent motorbike or taxi on your way to the fort. Goa can be reached conveniently from any part of the country and is well-connected by air, rail and road network.

St Francis Of Assisi



This ancient church of Goa was changed into a museum in the year 1964 by the Archaeological Survey of India. You can adore the amazing remains of sculptures of Hindu temples while visiting this place. Apart from this it also is well-known for its rich carvings, designs as well paintings. The architecture is a brilliant reflection of the popular Tuscan as well as the Mosaic-Corinthian style.


Location: Old Goa


Known for: Portuguese and Manueline style, a statue of our lady of miracles, octagonal towers, and frescoes with floral decorations.


How to reach: By rail, it is 27 kms from Vasco Da Gama railway station and 22 kms from Mapusa. By roadways, you can take bus from the Kadamba bus terminus which is only 9.2 kms away from the church. You can also rent a motorbike or taxi on your way to the church. Goa can be reached conveniently from any part of the country and is well-connected by air, rail and road network.

Palolem Beach



This crescent-shaped unspoiled beauty of Goa is another major attraction of the place. One can leisurely spend the day on the beach adoring the sunrise and sunset. This beach is a perfect spot to chill and relax with a drink in hand. Additionally, the accommodation adds on to the beauty and comfort of the place immensely.


Location: South Goa


Known for: Shacks, swimming, delicious seafood, and souvenir shopping.


How to reach: If coming from North Goa an hour and a half drive along the NH66, or if from South Goa itself, a half-hour drive is needed to reach the beach. There are no public transports that take you directly to the place.
